About our foundation
We Are In A Mission To Help Poor People
Shiva Vidhya Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha was born on September 12 in 1967, which is situated in central India at Nagpur, Maharashtra, out of the belief that equal opportunity is the cornerstone of civilization. All human beings must have the same opportunity to succeed in life, irrespective of the circumstances they were born into.
However, this is far from true.
Individual wealth in India witnessed a growth rate of 10.91% in the year 2016-17 against 8.50% in 2015-16. India also created a higher number of high-net-worth-individuals with a growth rate of 9.5% against the Asia growth rate of 7.5%. And yet, 36% of children under 5 in India are malnourished, 33 million children still do not attend school and employed in various forms of child labor, 252.86 million Indians are still illiterate due to lack of access to education facilities (as per UNESCO 2018 ), and close to 13,000 villages in India still do not have school facilities.
We at Shiva Vidhya Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha, aspire to change this inequality.
We do that by bringing together the people who want to give and the organizations that work to make a difference.
Our Founder late Mr. Murlidharrao Shravan Manchalwar under the presidential leadership of Mr. Zhulfikar Khan Babu Khan had
the idea of Shiva Vidhya Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha. Which was born with a very simple thought to bridge the gap between two sets of people - people who want to give, who want to try and make a difference along with those who are doing phenomenal work but don’t know how to reach out to the people who want to support them.
The consequences of poverty are manifold and it impacts families through generations. An intervention at the right time, like educating one generation or providing livelihood to increase income can help families break the cycle of generational poverty.
India is a population rich. Our people are our resources and if each one of us commits to giving regularly, we will be strong enough to solve our problems. We could even be audacious enough to say that we as a community may not need any aid if we make giving a way of life.
Keep that in mind over 5000 poor people are trained by Shiva Vidhya Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha's Printing Press and many of them has started their own small business for the fulfillment of their livelihood.
The story has been one of love, compassion, sacrifice, and the power of the human spirit to triumph against all odds. Our services encompass a vast spectrum from placing children in a good educating environment, by providing primary school education in English, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu medium, Nutrition, and counseling services to poor class families.
We are licensed by the Department of Joint Charity Commissioner Nagpur.
Shiva Vidhya Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha has two primary schools in Nagpur one at Hansapuri, CA Road, and the other at Kalmnabasti, Ganesh Nagar. In the last six decades, we have Provided Education to 2,00,000+ economically backward students.
A strong network of support from well-wishers, sponsors, and donors in Nagpur and all over India has really been the foundation of our growth. Our journey so far has been challenging but fulfilling and we still feel that we have a million miles to go. The needs of helpless children are endless and every day brings a new reason to reach out to help those in need.
We look forward to all the support and assistance that can be offered to us to help us in our endeavor.
